Started working in the AV hire industry after leaving college in 1985. In 1987 set up the Telford operations of Bodley Knose Limited, primarily providing audio-visual equipment for corporate events (conferences and roadshows) along with sound hire to broadcast and theatre. In 1991/92 moved down to Guildford to run the main hire centre.In 1997 became self-employed due to being made redundant when parts of the company were sold off. Continued in the conference market, but also began hiring broadcast sound equipment for restricted service licence radio stations and local and national broadcasters. Was part of the consortium that won the local commercial radio licence for Telford, and built the studios for Telford FM ahead of the station launch.In 2003 established Press Red Rentals Limited, and concentrated on hiring audio-visual, sound, lighting, video and computer equipment to the business events market with the exhibition/trade show sector being a major part of the business.Post-pandemic looking to rebuild the events business and develop new revenue streams away from mass gatherings.
