Oversees and manages the planning, development, organizing, and scheduling of City recreation and aquatic facilities, and activities. Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:- Manage Recreation facilities to include 3 Athletic Complexes, 1 Tennis Center, 5 Pools, 5 Splash Pads, and a 65,000 square foot Recreation Center.- Prepare, monitor, and analyze a $5 million operating budget and achieve $2.6 million revenue expectations.- Provide strategic leadership to 4 full time personnel (4 Supervisors).- Oversees and assists assigned staff with administrative and program duties in the daily operation and management of the Recreation Division.- Manages the personnel, equipment, facilities, and finances assigned to the department, including hiring, ensuring training for, reviewing performance, scheduling of work, disciplinary action and dismissing staff members.- Assists with establishing, monitoring, and evaluating departmental performance metrics.- Coordinates, schedules, and evaluates comprehensive recreation programming.- Coordinates long term contracts with facility users and establishes facility use agreements as needed.- Collaborates with assigned staff to write, review and revise policies and procedures for use of City recreation facilities.

Responsible for the management of daily operations and customer service in a 65,000 square foot recreation facility. Establish and communicate facility policies, procedures, and guidelines to staff and public. Plan and implement budgets for the facility and manage sales of memberships and program registrations. Supervise, develop, and evaluate Recreation Center programs, classes and activities for all age groups and interests.

Director for Intramural and Recreational Activities including supervision of an Associate Director, Assistant Director and 8-10 part-time employees that serve as Sport Club Coaches and Fitness Instructors.- Direct and develop planning and budgetary processes that respond to recreational needs of the University, which currently include five major programming areas: intramural sports, sport clubs, wellness/fitness programs, special events and outdoor recreation. - Plan, administer, and evaluate program offerings, develop and implement risk management policies and procedures for all program areas that meet or exceed existing standards within recreational sports.- Provide a variety of special events for the campus such as the Pirate Training for Welcome Week, Homecoming Kickball Tournament and Senior Week Games. Serve as Director of Student Activities, which includes the supervision of two professional staff members, 4-6 student managers and 15 student assistants within department.- Provide leadership, budget development and risk management of Student Activities to include the overall operation, event scheduling and coordination for the Campus Center.- Coordination of 60+ student organizations, campus-wide programming and leadership development. Leadership in event planning, coordination of SU’s Welcome Week in August.- Serve as advisor to SU’s student newspaper, coffee house, Esports Club and the SU’s Interfraternity Council for four fraternities. Additional responsibilities within Student Life include, but are not limited to:- Responsible for editing and maintaining publications including Student Life websites and the Student Handbook. - Provide support for Student Life departments in the areas of travel, risk management, assessment and accountability. - Compile bi-annual Board of Trustee Reports and annual departmental reports. - In total, responsible for the hiring, training and supervision of 100+ student employees.
