Sr Trial Technology Specialist
CurrentFor nearly a quarter of a century, -- in-house, as a captive consultant, as the Principal Consultant of his own shop and now back in-house with Cooley, Derek has collaborated with attorneys, their trial teams, witnesses, jury consultants, and other vendors to prepare opening and closing statements, and witness direct and cross outlines, through the preparation of the evidence, and creation of demonstratives that most efficiently and effectively explains complex concepts and case themes.• Utilize technology to create demonstratives and to build and maintain trial databases that organize those demonstratives, as well as exhibits, and deposition video for efficient courtroom presentations in a manner best suited to the case and the attorney’s preferences.• Provide in-court presentation ("hot seat") support.• Manage trial site logistics -- coordinate in-house, local counsel and vendor resources, as necessary, to set up, and provide support to trials, mediations, arbitrations, hearings, depositions and similar litigation proceedings.• Coordinate with opposing counsel for the procurement and setup of any necessary courtroom presentation equipment. Maintain and troubleshoot equipment as needed.
