While working as a seasonal technician I participated in the Herring and Delaware River striped bass young-of-year seine survey; my duties included: measuring and recording fish samples as well as deploying, recovering, and tending a 100-foot seine net. I assisted biologists with the laboratory-processing of fish samples by collected biological information such as weight and length, collecting biological samples such as otoliths and stomachs, as well as sampling and mounting scales for age-determination. I participated in the offshore 30-meter bottom-trawl survey where I sorted and identified catch and collected biological information such as weight and length
