About Derek Baranowski

Career Captain with the Burlington Fire Department. I became involved with mental health training a couple of years ago when we took the initiative to form a Peer Support Team for our firefighters and their families. I saw how important it was for us to battle the stigma that is associated with mental health. I became a trainer for the Mental Health Commission of Canada and now facilitate the Working Mind Program across the province.
