• In conjunction with the PM leading a team of 3 supervisors and an on site office staff up to 80 personnel to delivery the civils earthworks package at the NGRs at Wulkuraka for Shamrock civil.The project with an overall contract value for LORAC of $130 million involves bulk earthworks, ground improvement works, detail excavation, piling, concrete works, pavements, retaining walls and a vast array of services in a high cultural and environmentally aware site.Completion Stage one; mid 2015.Principal contractor; Laing O Rourke Australia ConstructionProject value; $130 Million• Previously worked as site manager civils on a $150 Million Defence Logistics Transformation Program upgrade to Lavarack Barracks in Townsville, Northern Queensland. Working alongside the project team stage one was completed in August 2013.The project involved the import of 80,000m3 of select fill, the excavation and cart to spoil of 20,000m3, installation of 220 meters of reinforced concrete box culverts, installation of all storm water and sewer lines, erosion protection and 120,000m2 of pavement.Completion Stage one; August 2013.Principal contractor; Baulderstone.Project value; $150 Million• Working on the new terminal 11 project at the port of Brisbane my team and I were responsible for all the storm water infrastructure and pavement construction at the container handling section of the works. The overall works includes ground improvements, in-ground infrastructure, storm water and services installation, pavement works and rail beams. The project was particularly difficult due to strict deadlines, presence of multiple trades and also the ground conditions which consisted of reclaimed land made up of dredged sand. A further 250 micro piles were installed by a subcontractor under my direct supervision.It was an extremely complex project which was finished under budget in difficult circumstances. The civils component of the project was completed in ten weeks, four weeks ahead of schedule.Completed; April 2011Principal contractor; Brookfield MultiplexProject value; $112 MillionI subsequently worked as site manager on the University of Queensland Oral Health Centre which is a 102 million dollar government funded project due for subcontract completion February 2011. The project was managed by Lend Lease.The project entailed the bulk excavation of approximately 60,000 cubic meters with relevant shoring works involved in a city centre site. A pilling perimeter wall with capping beam and infill shotcrete works was used to develop the site to a depth of 16 meters also referred to as top down construction. Mainly involved in civil works delivered works on two major motorways in Ireland most recently the N6 motorway consisting of 56km’s of dual carriageway, 7 km’s of link road, 32km’s of side roads, 9 roundabouts and 34 structures at a cost of €475m. Our contract involved earthworks, drainage and ducting along with concrete and kerbing on side roads and structures. Employing a team of fourteen employees and four subcontractors I was responsible for quality, safety and production.Prior to this project my company was subcontracted to Bother Hibernia in the construction of the N7 motorway which involved 28 km’s of Dual carriageway and the upgrade of 10 km’s of single lane to dual carriageway at a cost of €425m. Again duties involved the organising of works, monthly valuations, payment of subcontractors, daily timesheets, safety, quality and production under tight schedules. We employed a team of twelve employees and four subcontractors. All works on this project involved mainline drainage including petrol interceptors, catchpits, manholes, gullies and culverts.Other works carried out by my company included structure foundations, site clearance, pipe work, concrete works, and setting out works. Setting out was carried out using Leica total station and Thales GPS which I purchase in 2007.Included in these projects were a housing development of twenty two houses with associated site works’, drainage and foundations to floor level. Numerous single dwellings, a further hospital extension, crèche and building design.I personally dealt with all design which involved the preparation of planning drawings, submission to planning and in some cases construction drawings. The projects ranged from single dwellings in many cases, through to crèches and retail outlet.Foul, storm and water pipeline design was also carried out with all respective surveying done in-house.

On graduating from college I obtained employment as a junior site engineer with M. Fitzgibbon (Builders) Ltd. I quickly progressed within the company and I was promoted to head site engineer on a large scale housing project involved in setting out, supervision of subcontractors and quality control. Progressing on from this after completing pipeline projects and commercial buildings, as an engineer, I was promoted to site manager.
