Working on intellectual property licensing negotiations and contract drafting.

Consulting work for the Puerto Rico school system, assisting them with new RFP templates and processes for E-Rate acquisitions. This included rewriting the contracts and building custom templates with better functionality.

Managed a large multi-level team that drafted, negotiated, and supported over 50,000 services contracts per year. We worked with thousands of customers, ranging from companies at the top of the Fortune 500 to local businesses, and a wide variety of Federal and State governmental entities.

After graduating for the University of Illinois College of Law, I practiced both as a volunteer attorney at a legal assistance organization, and on my own in a small, two person firm. I handled a variety of case types such as family law, criminal defense, and property torts. I gained extensive experience in court as well as developing my people skills with both colleagues and clients.

At the College of Law, while working toward my J.D., I helped with a variety of tasks for one of our deans. Projects included collection and analysis of data for recruitment purposes, researching issues, and helping to model the rankings system in order to predict where the school could make the biggest improvements. I spent a lot of time with various professors and visiting legal scholars, which was an excellent addition to my education.

Kansas State University developed a large online course system used by both local and remote students to take classes. As part of this initiative, I maintained several key server systems supporting the online university, such as media servers, web interfaces, and content management systems.I also worked with professors and visiting lecturers to record content and advise them on how best to present their course material in an online format. As this was one of the early implementations of online coursework, we had to coach the instructors on using digital media, learn (or invent) best practices surrounding content management, and market an entirely new education paradigm to university faculty and administration.
