In this position I was the primary point of contact for IT operations at SpaceX's West Coast launch site on the Vandenberg Air Force Base. I coordinated the workload of our 3 person team that was responsible for everything from supplying help desk support, to maintaining and planning improvements to the networking infrastructure on site, to configuring and maintaining our blend of Windows and Linux servers that supported ground equipment and flight control systems. Responsibilities and Accomplishments:• Maintained contact between local launch site managers and our greater IT team. Coordinated projects that fulfilled local needs along with ensuring the site was compliant with company standards and policies. • Ensured all projects, tasks, and tickets being worked by our IT team that involved Vandenberg were completed on time or would not have a negative impact on our launch campaign. • Monitored site server infrastructure and network infrastructure, analysed and developed solutions for any issues that arose, communicated issues to all stakeholders, and scheduled and executed issue resolution plans around any critical launch operations.• Developed and improved procedures and documentation needed for IT related tasks, especially where it concerned my local site.• Assisted in the development of network implementations for each customer of our launch services at Vandenberg based on their requirements and our service offering, ensured switch configs and layer 1 patching were in place before customers arrived, and provided general IT support throughout the launch campaign.• Executed network and ground system server buildup of SpaceX’s West Coast Landing Zone.• Planned and executed complete hardware and software refresh of servers that supported GSE (Ground Support Equipment) at our launch pad.
