As an adult with ADHD, a condition contending for top spot in “Most Misleading Name for a Mental Health Disorder”, the quality of caring is deeply engrained in me. Most tell me I care too much about too much. It truly is a blessing and a curse to care this much. But when it comes to my crafts, it's truly a blessing.I derive deep satisfaction in discovering and communicating connections that I see in the world that most won't typically see. Whether it be lessons you'd discover in the craft of woodworking that can each us about how people can connect people of all cultures beyond using spoken language, or how doing a deep dive on understanding how electricity actually flows in a circuit, you can't truly discover and intuit the intricacies of injury recovery and how the human nervous system works.I've learned that fully immersing in a craft or concept, not just the intro and surface level stuff, can lead to profound understanding of the world we live in and what connects us all.I bring with me all of the discoveries and skills that may lead to even more understanding to my professional work. This lends well to my passion in creative technology and finding novel and ways for people to communicate nuanced messages to each other. The challenge of creating understanding and trust between brands and their customers is a challenge I take on gladly. It only enriches and provides optimism to how I view the world, which we all sorely need these days. Nothing from my life's experiences, nor from the lessons you might teach me of yours, is off the table when it comes to finding ways of communicating these beautiful connections that the world has to offer and discover.So... what do I do for work? Simply put, I use technology, art, science, and human understanding to creative immersive experiences to help people see things in a light that might just strike the right chord to take action — whether that be for a social cause, connecting brands and customers that could benefit from each other, or just for a great fun experience that helps individuals see eachother as individuals with more in common and more to talk about than they think.But if I didn't have time for a monologue like that, I'd say "I'm a software engineer, but my work is kind of like a creative hackathon."
