Destiny Brown is an experienced community wellness advocate whose work focuses on the elevation of residents of disinvested communities in the areas of health equity, reproductive health, housing and decarceration. She currently serves as a Community Organizer with Advocates for Basic Legal Equality (ABLE) in Dayton, Ohio where she has lead efforts with community coalitions to improve housing conditions for tenants and ensure police oversight through community engagement. As a passionate professional, Destiny has a lived experience that allows her to bring empathy to her work as she improves the lives of others.She has served as a home Child Care Provider and a Caseworker for the Ohio Medicaid, SNAP Food Assistance Benefits and TANF, where she managed caseloads serving up to 200 families. She is a Community Health Worker, a trained Birth Doula and the creator of Prosperous Parenting, a class focused on strategies for parenting during difficult times. Destiny is a graduate of Bethune-Cookman University and has strong research and data collection skills and expertise in social determinants of community health outcomes.
