Software lead at Western Engineering Mobile Advanced Robotics Society at Western University; responsible for leading a team of 10 general members to develop a Mars Rover to compete at the CIRC• Utilized Raspberry PI, ESP32 Arduino, Java, Python, andC/C++ to build various functionalities into the rover, such as movement, data transfer, and sensor feed stabilization.• Established a mission control system which displays data from onboard cameras, LiDAR, and GPS to the driver, allowing them to maneuver the rover remotely to complete various challenges.• Programmed an Intel RealSense camera to send both video data and precise coordinates to the driver allowing for effective crash detection and navigation.• Implemented rover control using a wireless controller and tested the functionality of the rover’s drive assembly and arm.• Developed and standardized UDP-based communication protocols to facilitate data exchange between the rover and home base.

Began the research and preliminary steps into building a summarization model using various nlp techniques for unstructured text data. Majority of my time was spent testing out different data pre processing techniques.Used polars for data queries and manipulation, experimented with various tokenizers to create sentence embeddings, cleaned data using common patterns identified by a clustering model.

Worked with the Strategy & Solutions Product Design Team to develop various proof of concepts including, web applications developed with Node.js, React and Express, API microservices built using the Light-4j framework, PostgreSQL databases, and tested APIs with Postman while using Git for source control.• Analyzed and enhanced existing API structures, increasing overall system efficiency by reducing the number of requests made to external API systems thus improving data retrieval time.• Developed an API proxy in Light-4j framework that takes in a single request, sends out multiple requests to pre-existing APIs, processes and combines the data into a single JSON object, and then sends it back as a single response.

Led a team of 10 students to the VEX Robotics World Championship in 2019.
