CurrentCreated and led project to raise public awareness for people experiencing homelessness and to regularly screen blood pressure and diabetic Accu-Cheks at homeless shelters. Introduced speakers to school to talk about homelessness in STL. The speakers provided factual clarifications on the homeless population in St. Louis and the difficult vetting processes they undergo within several social services.Assist over 300 adults from Saints Peter and Paul Homeless Shelter as a weekly volunteer.● Coordinated communication with Peter and Paul Community Services and the Mercy Foundation in an effort to bring basic healthcare to meal drives.● Outlined and implemented a plan to bring blood pressure screenings and diabetic Accu-Cheks to multiple homeless shelters.● While the COVID-19 pandemic halted our plans of expansion to other shelters in the St. Louis area, the restrictions did not stop us from fundraising, assembling care packages, and collecting several hundred blankets and articles of clothing.● During the COVID-19 pandemic, I started a novel project under the greater Care2U initiative to print face shields for healthcare workers in the greater St. Louis area. Care2U was able to print over 200 face shields, which we then assembled and provided to local healthcare systems.
