I'm very humbled to be lucky enough to have a career that has also been a passion and hobby of mine since almost as long as I have memories. Ever since I was young enough for my mother to sit me on her lap in front of the computer to play "Math Blaster!", computers have been my passion. Getting my hands dirty in Command Prompt in Windows for the first time, learning how to create an HTML page in notepad and testing every HTML element, and seeing what I could do with the hardware in front of me enthralled me like nothing else at the time. Figuring out that a keyboard was the conduit for my imagination to run wild in a virtual sandbox, lead to me latching on to any lessons and concepts I could find available to me on the internet that pertained to IT. Throughout middle and high school I explored every idea fully for projects that I could conjure up in my head. I moved through writing simple scripts in Javascript, to building a robot with an Arduino board running python scripts and powering servos, to developing rudimentary multiplayer platform games, and many projects in between. These projects coupled with my extracurricular activites of participating in the STEM group, and being the highest ranking leadership of my JROTC unit that was 400+ students strong, made for wonderful memories.The passion I had developed for learning is what carried me through my education at FGCU. At this time I had delved into larger concepts to understand, such as Linux systems administration, advanced networking, and cloud computing. At FGCU there were more resources available to me than I had ever had access to before, and I was surrounded by like-minded individuals that shared the same passion that I had. I dove into everything I could feet first, and rarely came up for air, reveling in the newfound knowledge from my courses and studies. I'd practice everything I learned frequently, as my passion was my hobby, and I was garnering the skills to turn it into my career. Here is where I truly realized how much there was yet to learn.So now working in the industry, my passion still remains. My thirst for knowledge and learning and honing my skills is insatiable. There's an astronomical amount left to learn, and more knowledge presenting itself in industry every day. I'm incredibly grateful for this, and am always looking for new lessons and experiences to expand my love for computing.
