Develop presentations and deliver to Air Force customer.• Developed an automated database maintenance system that reduced 300 – 400 man hours of data entry and analysis tasks to 20 – 30 hours yearly.• Substantially reduced negative impact of four top aircraft subsystem issues on flight performance.
Unmanned Systems Technician Ii
Tested unmanned aircraft turbine and wing deployment systems. Met with engineers to determine test requirements, developed test plans, functioned as Flight Test Crew Chief, analyzed test data, and prepared final test report. Wrote software using Open CV libraries to track relative location of targets. Used SolidWorks to design a wing sliding carriage to facilitate folding wing deployment. Designed part and developed BOMs. Created G code to be read by CNC mill. Developed rapid prototype components for time critical system tests. Standardized practices, and eliminated a variety of production issues. Worked with machinists, Purchasing, and QA in component fabrication and assembly. • Developed a production document that reduced aircraft production time from 80 to 20 manhours. • Developed a new wing deployment procedure that eliminated system critical test failure.
Space Grant Intern
UAV Design for NASA Space Grant September 2011 – Fabruary 2013-Used Open CV libraries to implement basic target recognition functionality.-Created 3-D model of the aircraft in CATIA to obtain estimates of weight and inertial proprieties, to be used in creating X-plane model.-Utilized X-Plane model to tune PID gains and further refined gain set in flight testing. -Designed, fabricated and tested a camera gimbal to allow for quick target acquisition. -Fabricated aircraft components out of fiberglass, carbon fiber, foam and plastic. -Modified autopilot control algorithms to allow gimbal control and flight termination. -Worked with machinist to produce molds from CATIA models.Wind Tunnel Research May 2012 – May 2013-Designed and fabricated wind tunnel models, wrote and conducted wind tunnel test plan and presented findings at a conference.
