My job has many aspects to it. I design the core, coil, and tank for new transformer quotes and orders. For existing designs I must trouble shoot any problems that occur during construction and testing.Designing the core and coil requires me to produce a design that has a certain loss efficiency, impedance, and meet certain size restrictions. To meet these requirements and communicate instructions to the shop, I must use a custom company program, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, AutoCAD Review, and other various windows programs.I have to do my job within the LEAN greenbelt system, and although much of the work is done on my own, there is a lot of collaboration between designers, drafting, and the shop. This environment requires me to continually work on my own and in a group.
