In addition to focusing on both creative and expository writing, I guide students in literary explorations that tie in contextual vocabulary and critical thinking skills. We conduct self- and peer-editing and revision processes that improve their grammar, usage, and mechanics. By using close readings of fictional texts, I teach literary elements such as plot, setting, character development, and the use of dialogue.
