Senior Financial Coordinator, Vita Site Coordinator
CurrentPrimary responsibilities include but are not limited to training and coordination of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program in Coweta County which offers free tax help to people who generally make $58,000 or less, persons with disabilities and the elderly. IRS-certified volunteers provide free income tax return preparation with electronic filing to qualified individuals. •Perform day-to-day administrative tasks such as; maintain appointment calendar, maintain and protect confidential records and files, prepare federal and state tax returns, greet all customers in a welcoming manner , and handle all phone calls via multi-line system •Write, edit and distribute correspondence and all marketing materials •Utilize grant dollars to order all supplies; track and report all purchases to ensure grant compliance•Assist in re-writing the grant for the IRS, create budget from grant dollars and closely monitor and analyze expenditures throughout the year by preparing monthly variance reports for P&L statements and drawdowns for grant •Train, recruit and manage all volunteers and VITA staff •Track, report and communicate all program growth and expenses for grant reporting •Create and execute financial literacy classes and coordinate all financial services events with community partners •Establish relationships with local community partners and employers as primary contact for VITA Newnan•Work effectively with IRS SPEC agents and River Valley VITA Coalition •Review current and proposed federal and state tax law changes and regulations for tax preparation and to provide guidance to clients on any financial impact they may have •Collect, analyze and organize all tax information and documents for tax preparation
