About Devin Prehn
Hey there! I'm a recent graduate from Colorado School of Mines with a Bachelor's in Computer Science, and am pursuing a career in software development. My academic journey has been supplemented by several internships as a software engineer over the last several years, which have taught me how to apply the knowledge I've learned while in school. Most recently, as an intern at Pax8 I gained valuable experience as a full-stack developer and helped the team migrate from monolith to microservice by updating frontend API calls and reworking database queries on the backend.Both personally and professionally, I am committed to lifelong learning and actively seeking new experiences. In pursuit of these values, I completed a semester abroad in Sweden at Luleå Tekniska Universitet as a junior, and participated in a club service and trekking trip through the Himalayas as a senior. Both of these incredible opportunities instilled a curiosity and appreciation for other cultures and broadened my perspective of the world as a whole.In my free time I love to make full use of the great outdoors -- camping, skiing, hiking, and biking are all big hobbies of mine. I'm also an avid enthusiast of logic puzzles and strategy games, and am very competitive by nature. I'm always looking for new sports or games to try out!Now that I have completed my studies, my goal is to transition into a full-time role in the software industry that will challenge me to develop new skills and technologies, and where I can make full use of my educational background and industry experience. Although my college career has come to a close, I am very excited to continue learning and utilize my abilities to improve the world we live in.
