I am be responsible for all things product related for the Clinique brand team in South Africa. My portfolio includes both skincare and promotion. My role requires extensive knowledge of forecasting, pricing and managing out of stocks. I am responsible for making decisions about product launches as well as working with various team members to ensure launch success. I have built strong relationships with retailer partners and therefore have grown some great negotiation skills.

I was apart of a small team of whom manage our owned websites. I am currently in charge of all daily operations of Clinique.co.za & Jomalone.co.za. I work with many stakeholders to ensure the site content is up to date, relevant and as per brand guidelines. I manage all product merchandising, pricing updates, estimates and tracking performance. I also manage the email marketing for both Clinique & Jo Malone London. I was fortunate to be apart of the team who launched Lamer.co.za & Jomalone.co.za in South Africa. This was a great experience and provided many learnings in site optimization & development. I am excited to see how I contribute to grow in this role!

During my time in this role I owned the online merchandising process. I liaised with 9 retailers and pure players across SA and SSA to ensure all our products are merchandised properly and give an amazing customer experience. Through working with asset and copy management I have vast exposure working with our EMEA and global teams. I worked with our eKAMs in order to create campaigns on our retailer platforms as well as bridge the gap between our online and brand internal teams. I pride myself in going the extra mile to gain knowledge about products and processes in order to elevate our teams outputs. While doing my day to day tasks I am also choosing to work with the CRM lead to elevate our direct marketing. Within my extended CRM role I create and brief emails to an external agency as well as create my own. I localize global content and come up with copy changes which are relevant. I run alignment sessions to ensure consistency across other owned channels. I have been able to have exposure to braze as well as start my journey into becoming a GA expert. eCommerce is a challenging field with many components which makes my job truly exciting.

During my 4 month contract at Discovery I primarily assisted the marketing team with various tasks specific to updating communication to consumers for the 2021 policy changes.

Working on the main brand team I was able to expose myself to Trade marketing, Product marketing and Consumer marketing. My internship was during the first Covid wave and therefore I really had to step it up and take on more responsibilities. I was given the opportunity to co own the Consumer marketing process as well as work closely with the Product manager as a point of contact for all product related questions. I created a virtual selling campaign which used in store employees and gave them challenges to create content. These creators are still creating content for the brand today.
