About Devon Ledbetter
Hello! My name is Devon Ledbetter and I am currently a Masters student at the Rosenstiel School of Marine, Atmospheric, and Earth Sciences. I graduated from University of Miami double majoring in Marine Affairs and Communications and double minoring in Psychology and Business Management.Marrying marine science with communication is a very niche field. As Cousteau said, “For most of history, man has had to fight nature to survive; in this century he is beginning to understand that in order to survive, he must protect it.” Rather than contributing to the problem, I want to become part of the solution. I believe the first step to catalyzing change is piquing public interest and instigating public involvement. My goal is to utilize science communication as a tool to inspire others to be ocean ambassadors in the way Cousteau inspired me to make a difference.
