Maintenance on this aircraft include demonstrating an enhanced level of quality assurance through the exercise of problem solving, inspection, maintenance control, safety applications and inventory management; perform final approval inspections on system repair; functions as a technical advisor to work staff; Inspect and maintain tilt-rotor airframes and airframe components and perform duties relating to flight line operations. I was a powerline mechanic on the new C-130F/R/T Hercules and C-130J Super Hercules models. As a mechanic on this aircraft I maintain turbine engines, propellers, gas turbine compressors, auxiliary power until, fuel systems; operate test remove, and replace components; and scheduled organizational maintenance. Assist in supervision and administration of flight line hangar deck area and related operations ashore and afloat; plans, schedules and directs work center assignments; Inspect and maintain aircraft airframes and airframe components; performed studies related to flight-line operations. Supervise the proper fuel cards are used when refueling aircraft and keep proper documentation of all fuel loads/ locations where fuel was received. Operates and maintains ground support equipment; directs aircraft taxiing; daily preflight and post flight inspections and assist the pilots and crew in the performance of those inspections; assist during periodic airframe inspections; practices safety procedures and precautions on the flight line and in hangar desk areas; perform hot and cold refueling or aircraft; perform oil analysis sampling and use various types of fuels and lubricants; remove and install aircraft power plants, components, and parts required; recognizes and assists in corrective treatment and/ or preventative maintenance for corrosion; use precision measuring equipment required in the performance of duties; assist in performance of calendar inspections; operates assigned fire fighting equipment; follows weight and balance limitations for aircraft; perform starting and round turn-up functions; and use technical publications in skilled areas.
