I am currently in my 10th year of teaching, and entering my second year as Hernando County District Elementary Math Coach. I previously taught both 4th and 5th grade. I have been working on focusing my math background, including participation in the ORCHIDS workshop, membership in the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, a board position on the Florida Council of Teachers of Mathematics, participation in the Hernando County Executive District Math Leadership Team, participation in the statewide adoption selection team for Hernando County math curriculum adoption, training Florida educators with the Florida Department of Education on the B.E.S.T. mathematics standards, working with Florida DOE on the Math Deficiency Workgroup for grades K-4, as well as mathematics leadership at the school level. I worked for 7 of 8 years in the classroom as an ESE inclusion teacher, and have endorsements in reading and ESOL. I was also the yearbook advisor for 4 years, and tutored math and reading after school. I was recognized by the state as a teacher of excellence in 2018, and was awarded the recognition of Spring Hill Elementary Teacher of the Year in 2019.
