About Devon Jakob

Leveraging my strong and adaptable scientific background, NIST experience, passion for developing high-throughput measurement techniques, effective analytical and communication skills to catalyze domestic research competitiveness, national and economic security, and related domestic interests in accordance with NIST's mission.I hold particular passion for developing and applying novel measurement techniques for the nanoscale characterization of materials to address current and future challenges facing the advanced semiconductor, optoelectronic, and nanotechnology industries. My expertise is in the development and application of atomic force microscopy (AFM)-based techniques for nanoscale (sub 10 nm) resolution property measurements.I obtained my PhD in chemistry at Lehigh University in 2021 under the supervision of Xiaoji G. Xu. I joined Andrea Centrone's group at the National Institute of Standards and Technology later the same year through the NIST Professional Research Experience Program with Georgetown University. I've co-invented pulsed force Kelvin probe force microscopy (PF-KPFM) and have worked extensively with several AFM-based chemical mapping techniques such as PFIR, PTIR, and PiFM.Citations (as of June 4th 2024): 770h-index: 12
