Incendies is York University’s only art and culture feminist magazine. As a volunteer submissions manager it is my job to review all submissions and see which ones should move forth to the editing stage. Incendies publishes two editions per school year.

At York University I was a member of the CSSA (Communication Studies Student Association). This year (2013-2014) I was voted in as the Director of Writing, Publishing, and Journalism. In this role part my task is to connect professionals in this industry with student opportunities. I am also responsible for helping to plan events and other endeavours for the communication studies students and department.

As the Publicist for the Sound of Tears Film it was my responsibility to interact with media professionals and organizations in order to promote the coverage of this film project. I also arranged interviews between the press and the directors, cast, and other important figures. Creating a media kit and publishing a press release is also part of my role. Sound of Tears is a heartfelt film with a powerful message. A young woman, who is trapped in a forced marriage and wrapped up in the customs and traditions embedded in her since birth, must relinquish a forbidden love. It is a matter of family honour. As an account representative for Key North Productions it was my responsibility to obtain and develop positive relationships with both current and previous clients. The largest part of my job was helping companies with their "advertising" and "corporate giving strategy" by collaboratively working with them to create an effective Public Service Announcements for many radio stations across Ontario.

I created Giving for 31 with the goal of inspiring individuals and companies to become more involved in their communities. The goal of the project was to visit 31 charities over 31 days and then blog about my experiences so that others know how to get involved. The project was incredibly successful securing many active social media followers, emails requesting more information or consulting on what charity would be a good fit for certain individuals, within the media (Rogers, Newspapers, Animal Wellness, Costco Magazine, Our Canada Magazine, CBC Radio, Rock 93 Radio, etc.). Brett Wilson (CBC's the Dragons Den & Risky Business) was a supporter of the project through his social media efforts. Inquires from CBC, City TV, and Producers from the Oprah Winfrey show were some of the successes of this project.

As the Sponsorship and Public Relations Manager at Marlene's Meal Makeovers I oversaw all of the social media, promotional, and sponsorship requests involved with the television show. I was able to connect this television show with media coverage in Canadian Living, newspapers, in large festivals and events, as well as with Marlene as a public speaker. As the sponsorship coordinator I helped to secure sponsorships with Le Creuset, the local township, and other well recognized institutions. I was also involved in the partnership with Marlene's Meal Makeovers and the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
