About Devon Mayor
My name is Devon MacPherson-Mayor and I currently hold the position of Senior Communications Specialist at the Children's Treatment Network. I have a wide range of communications experience including strategic planning, content writing, website development, crisis communications support, government relations, project management, graphic design and social media management. I also hold a Master of Arts Degree in Critical Disability Studies where I explored the systemic barriers that limit the full societal inclusion of persons with disabilities. As a service dog researcher, I explore the role that animals have in mental health support, as well as welfare considerations for working animals. Brett Wilson (CBC's the Dragons Den & Risky Business) was a supporter of the project through his social media efforts. Inquires from CBC, City TV, and Producers from the Oprah Winfrey show were some of the successes of this project.

As the Sponsorship and Public Relations Manager at Marlene's Meal Makeovers I oversaw all of the social media, promotional, and sponsorship requests involved with the television show. I was able to connect this television show with media coverage in Canadian Living, newspapers, in large festivals and events, as well as with Marlene as a public speaker. As the sponsorship coordinator I helped to secure sponsorships with Le Creuset, the local township, and other well recognized institutions. I was also involved in the partnership with Marlene's Meal Makeovers and the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
