Als programma manager verantwoordelijk voor het programma Arbeidsmarktdiscriminatie (tot september 2017) en het programma Mensenrechten op School (Mensenrechteneducatie). Als Senior Beleidsadviseur ook verantwoordelijk voor het werk van het College op het recht op een behoorlijke levensstandaard, met nadruk op recht op huisvesting en dakloosheid, en armoede. Werk richtte zich op beleidsbeïnvloeding en concretisering van de mensenrechtenbenadering.Ook verantwoordelijk voor de lobby gericht op de totstandkoming van het nieuwe Nationaal Actieplan Mensenrechten.Senior policy advisor and Programme manager at the Netherlands Institute for Human Rights. As a programme manager responsible for the programme on labour market discrimination (until september 2017), and for the programme on human rights education. As a senior policy advisor responsible for the Institute's work on the right to an adequate standard of living, with emphasis on the right to housing and homelessness, and poverty. Work focused on advocacy and further development of a human rights based approach.Also responsible for advocacy for the new National Actieplan on Human Rights.

Overall co-responsible for policy and strategy development. Responsible for internal organisation and overall coordination of projects, as well as acquisition. Trainer and consultant in planning, monitoring and evaluation, and Advocacy/Policy Influencing and Networking for development and human rights practioners .In this position I provided training and consultancy services on (participatory) planning, monitoring and evaluation in English and French (including Project Cycle Management, Logical Framework Approach and Theory of Change amongst others). I provided training and consultancy services on PME for Advocacy and Policy influencing, as well as Advocacy and Policy Influencing skills. In terms of networking I consult and train on network analysis, managing network dynamics and facilitating networks. In addition I provide training on performance managemement and teambuilding. I also provided consultancies on topics ranging from evaluations of capacity building programmes to the development of training manuals on specific topics, the elaboration of contextual analyses on all sorts of topics, particularly human rights topics and support in writing proposals.For this position I traveled regularly, some countries I travelled to are: Tajikistan, Mali, Ghana, Senegal, Russia, Egypt, Syria...

Training family member organisations and their primary helpers (lawyers, priests etc…). Training subjects are, amongst others: basic international (human rights) law, specific aspects of enforced disappearances, and international and regional mechanisms relevant to enforced disappearances and human rights defenders. Other main duty is advocacy, in particular: lobby on national and international level; support in local advocacy where needed; urgent actions in case of disappearance of members of partner organisations or in case of risk of disappearance.Other duties were: Networking (putting family members in contact with other family members or with other professionals that can assist them); Provide advice to family members on a number of subjects ranging from legal advice to advice on project proposals and structuring of organisations and setting up of networks; Fundraising.For this position I traveled regularly. Focus areas: Sub-Sahara Africa and Sri Lanka. Special focus on Iraq also.
