Although a strong interest in all parts of the topics within Operations Management, the research interests of Jan de Vries include Supply Networks, Operations Strategy, the Organizational embedding of planning systems, and the application of Operations Management concepts within a Service context. Jan de Vries is also involved in some studies in the area of Health Care Management amongst which a study on Clinical pathways and patient logistics.During the period 2002-2003 Jan de Vries spent his sabbatical leave in the United Kingdom where he has been granted the title and status of Visiting Research Fellow in the Innovation Knowledge and Organisational Network Research Unit at the University of Warwick. During 2003 Jan de Vries has also been appointed the status of Visiting Research Fellow in the Technology and Operations Management (TOM) Research Group at Aston University, Birmingham, UK. During both periods Jan de Vries concentrated on research in the area of operations management networks.Jan de Vries teaches courses in national and international MBA programmes on a regular base.
