I reviewed and approved purchase orders, contracted maintenance work beyond our internal ability, wrote Request for Proposals, made contract recommendations, and evaluated and proposed administrative changes to improve our processes. I determined requirements, determined budget availability, solicited, evaluated and hired new personnel. Under my direction we were able to reduce the maintenance back log from 1037 work orders to 297 and reduced our average completion time from 5 weeks to 3 weeks. We developed new processes to ensure accurate requirement capture on project initiation, decreasing rework by half. We initiated planning process that reduced trips for hardware purchases, decreased unplanned interruptions and maximized time on site, ensuring more time was spent on planned maintenance work.
