I am a Tech Lead and Engineering Director in the Azure Compute + Host Division, leading the Azure Host Networking and Hardware Acceleration Team.I'm responsible for development of the dataplane for Azure Boost, our FPGA-based SmartNIC networking and storage hardware acceleration platform, and the Azure Virtual Filtering Platform, Microsoft's cloud virtual switch. VFP runs the SDN stack on every server in our cloud, and SmartNIC serves as the NIC on all our new servers since 2015. SmartNIC powers Azure Accelerated Networking, the default VM networking stack for Azure customers, and RDMA-based acceleration for Azure's Block Storage offerings. VFP is also the basis for the Windows Server SDN stack used by Microsoft Azure Stack, our private cloud offering.I lead a combined team of >250 software and hardware (RTL and DV) engineers, spanning the US, Israel, India, Serbia, and Canada. I worked on packet sampling, network monitoring and analysis for Windows Server, in collaboration with Bing and Windows Azure, building a packet sampling driver and a collector and analysis tool.I was also an intern at Microsoft from June-September 2009 on Microsoft App-V filesystem team, working on the Application Virtualization filesystem driver.

I developed a proof of concept application for monitoring and routing automobile traffic using IBM's stream processing platform, System S.I was also an intern at IBM Research from May-August 2007, working on wireless security.
