March 19, 2018: Title changed to Academic & Athletic AdvisorProvided primary academic advisement and support to all non-traditional students and student-athletes pursuing degrees in information technology, business, health sciences, and hospitality/culinary arts. Duties included delivering guidance in the interpretation of student academic programs, interpreting SAP, developing activities and workshops to support new students, and coaching students on academic monitoring. Coached and supported student-athletes in gaining an understanding of their academic progress in relation to maintaining academic eligibility. Provided leadership and mentoring to new academic advisors within the university system.Key Contributions:● Completed training requirements to earn distinction as a Certified Higher Education Professional (CHEP) in Leadership.● Maintained retention of student-athletes by focusing on personal, academic, and family issues identified as common factors impeding their success; 92% of current athletes maintained full eligibility with USCAA.● Focus was given to students performing below required metrics or struggling to make adequate academic progress. This role required an ability to identify, refer, tutor, motivate, and evaluate such students to achieve their full potential.Worked with student support services to identify and respond to the needs of all students by using available resources within the university system. This required working with students to learn how to identify internal and external barriers preventing academic success and creating intervention plans to overcome those barriers.Proficient in Power Campus management software, ACCUPLACER testing, and Moodle LMS.

Supervised the scheduling and assignment of courses based on block scheduling needs. Audited the course syllabi and LMS for scheduled classes to ensure compliance with all quality requirements.
