About Donato Girolamo

Born in a small village in the South of Italy, Donato obtained his undergraduate degree summa cum laude in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Naples Federico II. He continued his studies at Delft University of Technology where he obtained his Master of Science “with distinction” (top 5%). The graduate thesis project was conducted at the NASA Langley Research Center on “Progressive Failure Analysis of Bonded Composite Joints”. The thesis won him the prize for “Best Graduate Thesis of the Year in the Netherlands”.Donato has conducted research and developed advanced non-destructive methodologies for composites at the National Institute of Aerospace. He spent 3 years at Siemens Wind Power as Advanced Engineer, responsible for structural subcomponents and blade sensors development.Donato is currently working at the European Space Technology Center in Holland as non-metallic materials engineer.
