We make multi-year philanthropic investments in talented education leaders from around the country building networks of excellent public charter schools.I lead the finance leader community and drive strategic initiatives focused on board governance and mergers & restarts (M&R). I also staff the 11-person team responsible for investing CSGF's facility fund and own our meeting cadence, quarterly in-person stepbacks, and systems/culture.

Education First is a national, education-focused policy and implementation consultancy that supports non-profits, funders, state education agencies, and school districts with research, strategy, and learning communities.As a Senior Consultant, I project managed client engagements focused on accelerating student learning, planning for growth/scale, and implementing new strategies.

Greater Los Angeles Area

I matched with KIPP LA through The Broad Residency for Urban Education and served as the network’s first Director of Strategy. I reported to the organization’s CEO, staffed the Board of Directors, and led the Executive Admin team. My projects included developing a new five-year strategic plan, managing the merger of the KIPP LA and KIPP SD regions to form KIPP SoCal, and leading the COVID-19 taskforce through students’ and team members’ safe return to in-person learning. I facilitated the annual planning processes, network leadership team meetings, a variety of different offsites, and annual board retreats.

Nashville, Tn

Valor Collegiate Academies is a nationally-recognized network of three charter schools in Nashville, TN dedicated to the whole-child development of an intentionally diverse student population.I was the founders’ first full-time hire and opened the organization’s first two schools as the operations leader. I represented Valor through three different construction projects, launched a 1:1 laptop program, routed four school buses, and successfully navigated a School Nutrition Program administrative review. I was also proud to serve as the de facto school nurse, constant front-office presence, and go-to problem solver for an incredible community of 500+ students and 50+ educators.

Nashville, Tn

The Achievement School District (ASD) was a new school district tasked with transforming the state’s lowest performing schools established by Tennessee’s $500M grant from the USDOE’s Race To The Top (RTTT) competition. I initially joined the founding team as an extern before transitioning into a full-time role through the district’s first operating school year.I hired the founding cohort of school operations leaders, codified the district’s enrollment policies, and created the systems to recruit and register over 1,000 students in the ASD’s direct-run schools.

Greater Los Angeles Area

I joined Bain & Company as an Associate Consultant in the firm’s Los Angeles office. My first project was developing Bain’s global “point of view” on the future of streaming video using a 5,000+ consumer survey in 2010 as Netflix and other digital platforms began to gain traction. I spent 8+ months in the service centers of a regional electric utility as the first employee of my tenure to independently lead evaluation and solution implementation of a field force productivity initiative. I owned 60+ client relationships, including unionized lineman and support staff, in each location and my districts realized initiative leading improvements of 15%+ improved throughput. My experience on a pro-bono project supporting the joint transformation of an underperforming high school in the Watts community of South LA led me to pursue a career in public education.
