Dr. D M Kulkarni is Senior Prof in Mechanical Engineering in BITS Pilani, K K Birla Goa Campus. He has his Masters from IIT Kharagpur and PhD from BITS Pilani. He has 25 years of teaching and 3 years of industrial experience. He is leading a research team at BITS Pilani, Goa Campus on Additive Manufacturing of Metals and Polymer Nano-Composites for healthcare, space and automobile applications.He has received research grants from Industries (WIPRO, DUCOM Instruments, Aditya Birla Sci & Tech Centre (ABSTC), DUCOM Instruments Bangalore, Tata Iron & Steel Company (TISCO). He also has received research grants from Biotechnology Industrial Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), DST-SERB, Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), Startup India Seed Fund (SISF), DST/BioCyTiH.He is a former Dean (Administration) of BITS Pilani K K Birla Goa Campus during Jun-2014 to Jun-2023.He is the Founder Director of BIONIC Imprints Pvt Ltd (Startup in the field of digital dentistry and orthopedic implants.He has been awarded 2 times (2011 & 2012) for 'Faculty Excellence' for his contribution in Teaching, Research and Administration. He was also awarded by BITS alumni for 'Distinguished Faculty Award' (2010).
