Lead architect for on-line advertising and the most senior architect in the corporate wide Technical Leadership Team (TLT).We have over 2 billion on-line ads which drives most of the traffic to our website. Our algorithms measure the return on ad spend at a fine grain optimizing channel balance, targeting, wording, and bidding per hour and audience. I've pioneered and then mentored extension of the code for daily ad generation, submission, synchronization (checking that ad channel's content matches intent), credit assignment, cost and performance downloading, and many other areas. I've exploited Kotlin coroutines (channels, flows, async, actor), redis, ktorm orm, direct sql, etc and ensured the rest of the department knows how to use these. I do lots of mathematical modeling (probability, budgets, bids, paired experiments, trend analysis, etc).On the TLT, I advocate for practical architectural and technology investments, warn against risks, evaluate generality, and promote standards to enhance consistency and longevity. The TLT has 6 leading technologists spanning the business.

Refactored data extraction, transform, and load (ETL) system improving reliability several orders of magnitude and performance from an average of one successful load for each source every 36 hours to every hour (and arbitrarily scalable). Changed from lots of source specific code to a general system using plugins and adaptors for fine-grained extension. From a system where almost any failure would break the load to a resumable & incremental state-machine driven architecture. (Java, Cassandra, Mongo, quartz, rabbit, S3)Kept the 2 existing ETL systems running (Ruby, Mongo, Java, Resque).Tech lead & mentor for 5 person ETL team including 6 coops (1, 2, & 3 per semester).

Organized the product development team and vision into a successful product launch of this environmental sustainability software-as-a-service (SaaS) startup. Honed the wide vision into a clear first release with a minimal budget. Went live with 2 large corporate customers and over 200 users. Delivered four releases over 9 months starting with no functional backend with no unplanned downtime.

Defined and implemented product portfolio for RFID. Ran engineering & QA after acquisition of ConnecTerra. Delivered product & customer enhancements. Worked with BEA as a whole for integration, best practices, and shared development. Increased product line revenue by order of magnitude.Collaborated on product strategy for mid-market and channels (VAR/VAD, system integrators, and ISVs). Prime analytical role in Software-as-a-service strategy.

Established development processes including product management, QA, and usability in addition to release, design, and other engr processes. Expanded customer set from a handful to around 100 successful customers. Expanded revenue an order of magnitude.
