Director Of Institutional Advancement
I lead a team that oversees all aspects of development and communications at The Cathedral School of St. John the Divine, a K-8 independent school in the Episcopal tradition in Morningside Heights. At The Cathedral School, I have worked to integrate, streamline, and support messaging across all channels to strengthen community engagement among audiences, reinforce our unique value proposition, and navigate the challenges and opportunities of an increasingly-complex independent school landscape.DEVELOPMENTThroughout my time at Cathedral, I have taken a communications-focused approach to fundraising, developing our annual giving efforts—from concept to completion—with fully-integrated verbal and visual campaigns, culminating in a rebranding of the Annual Fund in Fall 2020. Since Fall 2019, I have written and designed our brochures and all solicitation materials (Adobe Creative Suite); managed gift entry, acknowledgment, and stewardship (Blackbaud/Raiser’s Edge); and collaborated with a team of 35+ volunteer solicitors, all while exceeding fundraising goals and maintaining an annual parent participation rate above 95%. I have also reconceptualized our annual fundraising gala—logistically and programmatically—to meet the fundraising and engagement needs of our community in a manner more closely aligned with our mission and culture.COMMUNICATIONSAs Director of Institutional Advancement, I guide all communication efforts, overseeing the day-to-day management of our website, including community emails, and the annual production of Cathedral Magazine and our stewardship-focused Giving Report. These involve art direction, photo editing, content creation, short- and long-form feature writing, and close collaboration with colleagues, contributors, and contractors to support the strategic aims of the School. I also manage special communications projects, including social media campaigns, events, promotional items, video production, speechwriting, and our virtual tour.
