Supervise a team of settlement professionals (settlement workers, youth workers, placement students and volunteers), and assist their recruitment, retention and performance evaluation. Oversee and submitted budgets and expenses as per agency policies and funding requirements for both Provincial (MCIIT/Newcomer Settlement Program) and Federally (IRCC) funded projects. Identified, developed and maintained partnership with sector agencies and networks, and implement community outreach through special events/activities. Support overall transition and integration of newcomer clients and their families into the communities through 1:1 case management, group information sessions and appropriate referrals to community programs/resources. Support to design, delivery and evaluation using best practices and make recommendations, and participate in agency activities including AGM, volunteer recognition and community forums.

The 2014-2019 Housing Stability Service Planning Framework is the road map for Housing and Homelessness Support Services provided by Shelter, Support and Housing Administration (SSHA) of the City of Toronto. These services are delivered to residents who experience homelessness or are at-risk of homelessness utilizing Housing First approach. Successfully completed 3.5 years of project by coordinating/consulting with multiple stakeholders, developing required documentations and filing system. Supported over 600 clients/year for social housing application (internal transfers, new & existing) into the centralized wait list, housing stabilization, eviction prevention and income/employment support. Supported over 60 precarious housing clients’ move into the permanent housing through intake, case management, advocacy and appropriate referrals. Developed periodic reports, work plan, budgets to funders and internal quality management meeting and exceeding anticipated targets and project goals. Planed, organized and facilitated life skills training, workshop and community engagement initiatives, and supported for recruitment, retention and supervision of placement students and volunteers.

ANC is a key component of United Way Toronto’s strong neighbourhood strategy which works to strengthen the capacity of vulnerable residents through various community development initiatives in Taylor Massey, Toronto’s one of the Priority Neighbourhoods. Implemented outreach and community engagement strategies and conducted needs assessment to support the development of priorities and action plans liaising with TCHC residents/leaders and community service providers. Co-facilitated community events/activities including resident meetings and working groups. Oversaw 2 special projects: After School Arts Program (8 weeks) and Tenant School (6 weeks), and grant initiatives; and tracking the disbursement of funds. In partial fulfillment of a MA in Immigration and Settlement Studies, I completed a 150 hours internship in Access Alliance. Planned and co-facilitated ‘client satisfaction survey’ at APoD multi-service community hub with 265+ survey respondents to identify community needs and service gaps. Conducted in-depth literature review to identify income security initiatives of social assistance recipients (ODSP/OW) and newcomers, and produced reports and highlighted recommendations. Planned and organized various activities such as Summer Splash community event, day of caring, pride BBQ and community talk event, participation increased by 30%.

As a national level NGO, SAHAMATI has been working in the area of rural/micro-finance, climate change, disaster management, education, advocacy and social justice, women and youth empowerment, and community-based health promotion.Oversaw community-based project called Promotion of Self-Help Initiative in the Rural Areas (Samunnati Program) in partnership with Oxfam Hong Kong which includes coordinated community development initiatives utilizing participatory and inclusive approaches, developed project proposals, reports, monitoring and evaluation strategies for quality of services. Supervised program staff and volunteers (15+), and budgets of over $35,000/-. Lead field trips (monitoring) of donor, government and other likeminded organizations.

Supported to develop HR policies, funding proposals, periodic reports and training manuals, and coordinated to develop/update promotional and communication materials such as newsletters (quarterly), brochures, calendars and web pages. Compiled and wrote 2007 Annual Report and History of Sahamati (2001 - 2009). Assisted to project-based staff (site-office) to develop project proposals and reports as required.

Nawalparasi, Nepal

TNA was a short-term (1.5 month) project, designed to identify vocational training needs of rural women and youth. The project was a joint initiatives between the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Nepal and Skills for Employment Project of the Asian Development Bank. The project was managed by SAHAMATI. Developed project proposal and succeeded to secure approx. $ 6,000/- from secret bid competition. Identified target group, conducted 15 focus group discussions with over 180 survey respondents. Coordinated with District Steering Committee and key stakeholders to implement community and municipal level consultation meeting. Supervised project team; oversaw budgets; produced statistical and narrative reports.

TRPAP was a pilot project of the Government of Nepal, Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Department for International Development (DFID) and the Netherlands Development Organization (SNV). Developed/executed tourism action plans utilizing Appreciative Inquiry (AI) approach. Supported to establish 150+ CBOs/Tourism Committee and strengthened their capacity through leadership trainings/workshops, field trips and network. Deployed funds of over $ 35,000/- and promoted 50+ micro/social enterprises (home stay, handicrafts, restaurant, goat farming, etc) and tracking the disbursement of loans and repayments. Developed partnership with government, donors and tourism stakeholders. Established network between local (new) and established tourism entrepreneurs, increased tourist visits by 25%.
