Diana brings over 27 years of public, community, academic, private and voluntary experience in cultural heritage management and archaeology in returning to Aboriginal Victoria. Diana's work history includes roles as Program Manager - Cultural Heritage with Dja Dja Wurrung Clans Aboriginal Corporation Regional; Regional Heritage Programs Manager with Aboriginal Affairs Victoria (Aboriginal Victoria), contract consultancy work in Aboriginal archaeological survey and excavation in the Pilbara (Western Australia) and Darwin (Northern Territory). Working closely with Aboriginal traditional owners, colleagues, public and private land managers, owners and developers to record, manage and protect Aboriginal places and objects, while creating, developing and guiding educational and heritage awareness programs and projects has underpinned her former public service life in Victoria and South Australia. Diana’s academic research for her PhD brought a world focus to the importance and value of studying contemporary and historical agricultural heritage places and has taken her across Australia to farming communities in Canada to record both the unique and universal practices of people living on the land. Her interests and concerns include local community heritage, Aboriginal object collections, missions and artefact assemblages of missionaries, and farm graveyards of vehicles and machinery as places of meaning and purpose.
