Supported the legacy Bank of New York "Budget" System, as Project Lead and sometimes solo team member for 7 years; mainframe (batch and online) and client-server (Powerbuilder and CICS components) accessing mainframe DB2 databases. Added new file feeds, new reports, DB2 database "summary" tables, inquiry tools, new functions, etc. Improved efficiencies and performance, by thorough testing. To support the merger of Bank of New York with Mellon Bank, systematically 'retired' obsolete jobs, without causing any harm to remaining applications. Then wrote "workarounds" jobs to add required functionality for the new/combined organizations Charging system, to handle Affiliate level pricing and Product Line minimum pricing. Assisted and mentored other team members. Supervised offshore consultants, reviewing and retesting their assignments to ensure accuracy.

Worked on programming of COBOL, IMS DB/DC solutions for Inquiry systems. Improved job efficiencies with use of Checkpoint/Restart. Reputation for accuracy, attention to detail, and comprehensive testing. Was selected to work on a new application - Customer Service Charging - where I wrote the multi-component monthly "Customer Advice" monthly statement print job; implemented in 1986 and still running in regular Production today (with some subsequent updates and enhancements, of course).
