My research focuses on using activity-based metaproteomics and mass spectrometry to isolate galactosidases from the gut microbiome. I will then use the best candidates of these galactosidases for several synthetic biology applications. Some on these applications include treating B type red blood cells with galactosidase to cleave the B antigen and create.

My PhD research focused on the carbohydrates on the surface of E. coli O104 to eventually be able to synthesize a carbohydrate based vaccine enzymatically.

Designed a week-long cell biology and human physiology course for students aged 12-15 years old and developed course materials and interactive activities for the course. Taught the course to 20-25 students for 3-5 day programs for the ESU SEEQ and SEEDS programs.

I have worked as a teaching assistant for the two undergraduate biochemistry laboratory courses, BCHM 310 and BCHM 317. In these courses, I prepared short talks and quizzes that were given at the beginning of the laboratory period. I also demonstrated laboratory techniques and supervised the students performing the experiments, ensuing all safety protocols.

I worked as part of an interdisciplinary team of undergraduate and graduate students from both the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Education. We developed interactive teaching tools to make science concepts engaging for students. We came up with the initial ideas for a prototype and then extensively modified and tested the prototype to make them as.
