I’m often asked the question, how do I get my team to care- for the business, the environment, the company goals, etc.-?At Cygnus, we believe that connecting why the business exists with your people’s minds and hearts is an untapped source of strength that can be transformational. Not only to design robust working cultures, but to create solutions to those issues that nobody quite knows how to tackle, just yet… More importantly that connection, which in most cases is hard to achieve through communications strategies alone, is sure to help deliver – and well beyond expectations - on every social, environmental, and financial goal. And this is where we come in. We are on a mission to help businesses connect their purpose with their people, revealing every solution lying behind this alignment, while building thriving businesses where people can flourish, work more effectively as teams, and develop a deep sense of belonging. My journey has taken me from working with indigenous communities on regenerative practices and conservation, to working with business leaders within several industries and geographies. For the most part, all these leaders strive to do the right thing for their business, our planet and all peoples. (Lucky me, right?)But the question of engagement, trust, commitment and belonging has largely remained unanswered. Of course it’s hard, human nature is fickle after all. I’m an environmentalist and a humanist and for over 20 years I’ve worked on finding these answers.I’m now convinced that the solutions to many of our existential challenges lie at the heart of our relationship with work and with the natural world and this is why Cygnus was born. To help us find connection, fulfilment, and belonging where we spent most of our lives.My vision of success for the projects I am involved with, is to serve as a catalyst for transformational change.
