I was a Human Services Worker III for 700 families in Prince William County. My duties included reviewing the government assistance applications for thefamily, making sure all eligibility requirements were met and all verification was provided, and verifying the family was receiving the correct benefits for their verified income. I was required to make and keep appointments for the required bi-annual interviews for each family, apply program policy, requestverification, receive and verify the information given on applications and during interviews, as well as educate and assist the clients in requested benefits aswell any other benefits they could potentially be eligible to receive. The position required self-disciple and meticulous organization skills to meet the requireddeadlines for the state. The day to day tasks included data entry, data retrieval on multiple computer systems, filing, faxing, completing phone interviewsand fielding other phone and face to face case inquiries.During my short time at PWCSS, I sat on various boards to assist in bringing the county's policies and business practices to a more technologically currentenvironment.
