Dr. Diane Schmidt is an experienced data and technology strategic senior leader with almost three decades of experience guiding business data functions, governance, analytics, change management, operations, and technology programs for several of the world's most important financial services firms. She successfully led significant culture changes for business operations and transformation programs at Freddie Mac, the United States Treasury, and the London Stock Exchange Group. Her experience setting up and managing a diverse global workforce and critical enterprise transformation programs is unique and powerful. She has led, driven, and implemented enterprise programs that have renovated legacy organizations into industry-recognized leaders.Diane earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Mary Washington, a Master of Science from Marymount University, and a Ph.D. in Computer and Information Science focused on Information Quality, from the College of Engineering Information Technology at the University of Arkansas, Little Rock. Diane is a graduate of the Center for Creative Leadership, the UK Wavelength Connect Program, and Wharton’s Executive Presence and Influence Program. In February 2021, Diane won the Waters Technology Women in Technology and Data Exchange Professional Award. In April and May 2021 respectively, CDO Magazine recognized her as one of their 2021 Global Data Power Women and UALR issued her with a dissertation research award which also has been copyrighted. In 2021, she contributed to the Cloud Data Management Capabilities Framework (CDMC) as part of an Enterprise Data Management Council (EDMC) working group. In 2022, 2023, and 2024, Diane was again included in the Global Data Power Women list. She served as a member of the EDMC Board from 2022 to 2023 and continues to serve as an Editor of the Chief Data Officer Magazine. In June 2023, Diane accepted the annual Data Governance Professionals Organization Practitioner of the Year Award at the Data Governance & Information Quality (DGIQ) Conference in San Diego, CA.
