Project engineer on innovative "Ecorock" process that combined dewatered biosolids with municipal incinerator residue in a rotary kiln and fusion furnace to create road aggregate that could be used locally to fill potholes. Also involved in the then innovative project to reclaim surface coal mines using biosolids as a fertilizer. The R&D conducted by Penn State Univ included monitoring of biomass production, soils, soil water, groundwater and wildlife. In addition, assisted in the use of biosolids as a soil conditioner and fertilizer on agricultural fields. Developed overall sampling plan for biosolids and beneficial use sites. Developed and implemented stormwater management plan for 20 acre composting facility.
