I am an Accredited BACP counsellor with person-centred and humanistic ideals. I have my own private practice and also collaborate with individuals and organisations, including schools, to help recognise signs of mental health crises or ill health and to put strategies in place to help.I take an integrative approach to counselling. My work focuses on establishing goals of therapy and using empathy, acceptance and genuineness to guide this process. I am continually developing creative ways to promote an effective therapeutic relationshipWhen working as an Employment Advisor at Telford and Wrekin Council as an Employment Advisor, I offered a service for clients who had significant psychological or physical health needs that could impact on gaining or retaining employment. I have also qualified as a Mental Health First Aid Instructor, delivering Adult 2 day MHFA courses, 1 day Mental Health Champion courses and half day Mental Health Awareness courses both in the community and for businesses. Previous to this, I worked as a teacher and managed a successful Human Sciences Department.
