Leading USAID Bureau of Humanitarian Assistance's response to the complex emergency in Yemen, which includes the world's largest food security crisis. Leading a field team to develop and implement BHA's strategy to prevent famine and treat malnutrition through integrated food security, water/sanitation, emergency health care, and nutrition assistance in Yemen's conflict-affected environment.

Served on the complex emergency responses for Syria, Yemen, Iraq, Libya, and Ukraine in various humanitarian program strategy and management roles. Served on the Syria response team in Washington, D.C.; Amman, Jordan; and Adana, Turkey. Served as Planning Coordinator on the Iraq DART in Erbil, Iraq, during the Mosul response in early 2017.

• Provided analysis and communication support to regional teams by reviewing reports and assessments, identifying potential disasters and trends in evolving disasters; communicating OFDA strategy and accomplishments; and synthesizing information into brief, accessible products.• Wrote key documents—fact sheets, internal humanitarian updates, briefers, cables, talking points, etc.—for USAID, the USG interagency, and the American and international public.• In response to the USG’s need for near real-time data from partners in the Syria response, built OFDA’s first internal Who-What-Where-When tracker, trained partners and monitored their information, and analyzed the data for information products for USAID and the USG interagency.• Provided information support for four disaster response teams: Christchurch Earthquake, 2011; Libya Complex Emergency, 2011; Horn of Africa Drought, 2011; and Syria Complex Emergency, 2012-2015.

As a team member, designed a model to evaluate the effectiveness of US international diplomacy efforts. Surveyed State Department officials located at foreign embassies to compile information and insights. Cataloged initiatives in Africa and the Middle East. Managed small groups to create indicators and outcomes for the model. Led weekly training sessions on identifying indicators and related measurements.Selected Contributions:• Pinpoint the correlation between US diplomacy efforts and international opinions of the US.• Create a published report for Congress and the State Department to assist in future decision making and planning efforts.

Specializing in international development with a focus on economic development in Africa.Projects:• Effectiveness of Rwanda's Civil Society Organization in Combating Ethnic Tensions Following the 1994 Genocide. Separate analysis on the effect of international aid on ethnic tensions prior to the genocide.• India's Humanitarian Intervention in Pakistan's Civil War, 1971 – Analyzed refugee pressure that led to the break-up of the Pakistani state and establishment of an autonomous Bangladesh.• Cost-effectiveness Analysis of Breast Milk Banking in Kenya – Compared costs from Pure Love Expressed (NGO) to studies on formula feeding to determine the more effective strategy for reducing HIV transmission.• Electricity Privatization – Evaluated case studies of developing countries that had privatized electric systems to pinpoint the factors that contribute to success and failure in increasing production efficiency.• Mandated Participation of Women in Government – Analyzed electoral reforms in developing countries that mandate a significant number of national legislation seats or executive positions to women. Used regression analysis (STATA) to determine the impact on women's economic and social rights.

• Identified potential international and local donors; drafted and distributed donor-specific fundraising materials for a start-up non-profit breast milk bank / job development project in Kibera, Nairobi. • Met with and cultivated relationships with potential local donors and other stakeholders, including government officials, local religious leaders, and HIV/AIDS experts from the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI). Initiated and developed a formal partnership with the Government of Kenya Ministry of Youth.• Conducted a field analysis to identify a pilot site and target population; revised the pilot program structure to improve cost-effectiveness.

Developed FDA-compliance training programs for the heavily regulated pharmaceutical industry. Evaluated training requirements, designed training programs, and created course materials, including writing content and crafting client-specific presentations.Selected Contributions:• Researched course enrollment by conducting an independent survey and market analysis. Used the findings to create and test PTi's first Webinar course model, which received the company's global award for the "Most Successful Innovative Product" of 2008.

• Consulted with clients to assess jury presentation needs and budget and develop a suite of courtroom demonstratives that effectively communicated complex legal topics—such as patent infringement, healthcare malpractice, and intellectual property—to jurors with diverse educational backgrounds and experiences. • Developed demonstrative plans, wrote proposals, created budgets, assigned tasks to a graphics team, and monitored production for quality assurance and adherence to presentation and budget plans. Also developed PowerPoints and Flash presentations and trained new designers on basic best-practice design for courtroom demonstratives. Restructured project management and design production processes for Courtroom Sciences to improve production quality.• In coordination with a psychologist, designed and ran mock jury trials to identify issues and gaps in lawyers presentations’ and our demonstratives. At mock trials and arbitration sessions, ran jury presentation software, such as Trial Director.

• Created development plans and edited 14 political science, philosophy and history books.
