As Executive Director, I was accountable to the Chairperson for the performance of the corruption function. I managed 2 large scale operational teams conducting full corruption investigations. Under an operating budget of more than $9m my responsibilities included 98 staff, strategic leadership of operational and business mandates, and policy development.

I was responsible for the strategic and policy direction of the receipt and assessment of corruption complaints. I dealt with the more high-profile complaints as well as the more serious allegations likely to be referred for internal investigation. My role included the directorate’s input into the organisation’s strategic plan and annual report and the directorate’s business plan.

I worked in two separate functions during my tenure as an Assistant director with the CCC. As the Assistant Director, Public Sector Program I managed complaints of corrupt conduct by state and local government employees and monitored the way in which the agency dealt with those complaints referred to them to deal with. As the Assistant Director, Police Program I managed complaints of corrupt conduct by police and monitored the way in which the Queensland Police Service dealt with those complaints misconduct and corrupt conduct referred to them to deal with. Under both positions I was responsible for the management and development of approximately 20 staff.

Provide strategic advice to, and assist, the Chairperson with respect to the identification, development and analysis of complex policy options. My responsibilities included managing external complaints against staff and liaising with the Parliamentary Committee regarding the outcomes.

I was part of the 7-member Executive team that transitioned the privatisation of the Queensland corrective service system. I negotiated Enterprise Bargaining Agreement for all staff and introduced Management Development Programs, new HR Policy Manuals and a new Code of Conduct.My role involved appearances before the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission and the Queensland Anti-Discrimination Commission. During my tenure I recruited over 400 staff in the largest period of expansion experienced by the organisation.

I was responsible for all Equal Employment Opportunity issues Australia wide. I developed and successfully implemented sexual harassment training and appeared before an Anti-Discrimination Commission in all Australian states as a representative of Ansett.In addition my responsibilities extend to the national recruitment of Flight Attendants and corporate office staff.

I negotiated the Structural Efficiency Principle, 2nd Tier Agreements and 38-hour weeks for transport workers, store-man and packers, and clerical employees. My responsibilities included all industrial relations issues for Airports and Freight Terminals (Aust wide). I appeared before State and Federal Industrial Tribunals andCommissions in NSW, SA, WA, Vic and Qld.
