The purpose of the foundation is to encourage Sequim School District students to achieve success in every aspect of life. My goal was to build and oversee a board of directors with the synergy to develop and implement of programs to support teachers and to empower students through achievement in STEM subjects and creative arts. I directed fundraising outreaches to both the public and community businesses, grant funding, and even the staging of an annual variety show as well as the development of endowment/bequest giving in order to support teacher and needy student grant programs, and a vigorous K-12 scholarship award program to encourage students to finish high school and pursue a viable career. These efforts required considerable planning, coordination and effective management, networking, public relations and personal outreach to the community. I became president of the foundation in its infancy and "grew" it for eight years until the corporation reached my personal goals of 1) a strong seven figure balance sheet, 2) the ability to consistently offer renewable college scholarships to graduating high school seniors, and 3) seeing high school students who never dreamed of going to college graduate with their degrees.

I founded and developed a marketing and business consulting firm specializing in corporate, rather than retail, relations. Our emphasis was in recreational real estate development, home construction, manufacturing, marine transportation, yacht/ship building and technology firms as well as a select few high-end retail businesses. For example, my business served as a:1. Principle in planning, building, and marketing Skagit River Woods condominium style recreational development in Washington State. 2. Principle in organizing and developing corporate conglomerate Plumbline, Inc. to conduct residential/commercial construction in Washington and Florida. 3. Business and Marketing Agent for Aqualine Inc. to acquire and operate California-based Yacht & Ship Sales Brokerage and expanded operations to design, build and sell (50-85’ LOA) custom power and sail boats in California, Florida, Caribbean for both US and international clientele. 4. Marketing Agent for Pacifica Yachts, Inc. to expand line of 36-44’ LOA sportfishers, and 80’ LOA motoryachts and yacht fishers. 5. Corporate Marketing Consultant to Pacific Inland Navigation Co. and related marine and air transportation companies to develop and expand market share for North Slope offshore oil field development. 6. Corporate Marketing Consultant to International Water Treatment – North America, Inc. to market mobile and stationary chemical-free water purification plants in U.S. and Pacific Rim.7. Retail Start-up Marketing Agent for Pizza Hut, Fiat Motor Cars of America, Alpine Hut, and Whistler Mountain Ski Resorts, O.K. Tire Stores, Squire Shops
