Since 2014, Aqua for All is spearheading on innovation, business development and scaling. From 2019 financial innovation for WASH took track with the aim to involve private funding for WASH. On average it has a yearly portfolio of 6-8 million Euros. A4A is well known for its result/output orientation and innovative approach in regard to water harvesting, sanitation and business promotion for 'the poor'. It was positively evaluated in the fall of 2013, mid-2017 and mid 2023. In November 2014 Aqua for All got a new contract with the Ministry, including the fund management of the VIA Water program, aiming at innovations in cities in 7 countries in Africa; the fund for which I have got management responsibility. Within the VIA Water programme, I was account manager for 8 projects in Mozambique, 12 in Kenya, 3 in Ghana and 2 in Ethiopia.In 2011, I revisited Mozambique as advisor for the Multi-annual plan of the Embassy. And from 2013 I am advising the Embassy on a support program for AIAS, dealing with WatSan in 35 out of 160 towns. In 2014, I also did a Mid Term Review of the Capacity Building program of FIPAG, the asset holder for the water infrastructure in the main cities of Mozambique. And in 2017 and 2021 I did external evaluations of a VEI/FIPAG Non Revenue Reduction programme in Beira under the Dutch Sustainable Water Fund (FDW).In 2022 I was art of the team to do a mid-term evaluation of the national IWRM programme in Mozambique, supported by the Dutch Embassy. I was the first paid coordinator of the Association, that aimed to be a platform for Dutch WASH experts working in development work in Africa, Latin America and Asia; with a major focus on Portugese speaking countries in Africa. During this time, the Association created a not-for profit consultancy company, SAWA, where I started to work after my return from Mozambique (in 1987). Yhis job was a social service.

Morogoro/Ifakara

My first assignment abroad was in the Southern part of the Morogoro Region in Tanzania for the consultancy company DHV. The aim was to determine once in 20 years minimum river flows that could serve as a decision indicator for the type of water supply in adjacent communities. The study was scientifically based and integrated the hydrological measurements with the physical geographical context.
