The Slieve Donard property covers approximately 526 hectares and heathland is the major type of vegetation in terms both of its extent and conservation value. In 2021 a fire devastated approximately 300 hectares, impacting the land and habitats, which will take decades to recover. I'm helping the local rangers restore this habitat. The role includes tasks such as habitat surveys, ammonia surveys, livestock fencing and others.
