- Seek for suppliers of raw materials, supplies and spare parts, negotiate costs, shipping, delivery times and conditions based on plant needs and corporate guidelines.- Ensure that purchase orders are placed timely in SAP system.- Negotiate costs and conditions with supply chain providers (customs brokers, trucking, warehousing, ocean carriers or airlines).- Keep track with suppliers on the status of orders, payment notifications.- Keep relevant parties informed on shipments status and arrival dates to plant.- Check invoices from suppliers related to imports to ensure accuracy and cost control.- Keep records, statistics, cost analysis and other KPIs.- Regularly meet with Customs, Port authorities and suppliers to discuss issues of common interest and new business opportunities.

Temporary overseas assignment to support the creation of the import department responsible for Bekaert Costa Rica, Guatemala and Panama.

- Keep track of CKD shipments while in transit from Port to the assembly plants in Venezuela.- Monitore CKD inventory in Port and other external warehouses.- Keep in touch with suppliers and ocean/air carriers on the status of purchase orders, shipments, payment notifications and all aspects related to the supply chain.- Update weekly KPIs on inventory levels, transit times and Customs clearance lapses.- Update SAP system timely.

Negotiate costs and conditions with supply chain providers (customs brokers, trucking and warehousing) forthe creation of the costs structures required to prepare sales price lists and offers.- Monitor the status of cargoes going through Customs clearance and inform clients regularly.- Periodically review the statistics and inform to relevant parties in order to adjust the levels of sales prices.- Monitor the performance of trucking fleet in order to take required measures in the event of poor utilizationor loss.- Regularly meet with Customs and Port authorities, suppliers and customers to discuss issues of commoninterest, improvement and new businesses opportunities.

- Keep statistics of vessel space utilization to detect deviations from desired levels and inform the relevantparties for action taking.Update sea freight rate lists considering the information obtained from the statistics, commercial strategies,benchmarking and Head office guidelines.- Manage space bookings with other shipping lines when required.- Manage client's claims with the appointed law office for damages to cargo during maritime transport.- Monitor the performance of supervised staff by keeping KPIs.

- Provide port operators and stevedoring companies with the export/import lists by gathering documentationfrom clients and Customs brokers.- Submit electronic data of import bills of lading to Customs via EDI.- Check inventory levels of empty multimodal equipment (containers, chassis, gensets) to meet the demandfrom exporters and evacuate excesses when required.- Submit documentation to maritime authorities (harbor master) for docking/undocking permissions and otheractivities related to vessel's husbandry during port stay.- Keep records, statistics, cost analysis and other KPIs.- Check invoices from suppliers related to vessels operations during the port stay to ensure accuracy.- Monitor the performance of supervised staff by keeping KPIs.
