My current role at LuminateData, involves actively contributing to the design and development of the next-generation analytics platform for worldwide music consumption. My responsibilities encompass the end-to-end implementation of a data ingestion pipeline, efficiently integrating music sales and music streaming data from 350+ worldwide providers.With the combination of my software engineering and data science skills, my main goal is to enhance data processing efficiency and scalability, while ensuring the maintenance of high data quality.

As an experienced data scientist, I led a project focusing on the impact of Santiago's 6th Metro Line inauguration. The study involved gather, analyze and interpret Telefonica's mobile network big data and publicly available datasets, facilitating in-depth mobility analysis. In this role, I demonstrated my ability to create advanced data solutions that led to valuable insights.

As a Data Scientist with a focus on big data and software engineering, I specialized in the processing and analysis of Telefónica mobile network data and online social networks. My key contributions included:- Investigated how mobile apps usage shape the spatial use of cities and its impact in social mixing.- Analyzed the network of phone calls to offer mobile phones plans.- Utilized Twitter data to assess public perceptions on public transportation.- The development of a patented transportation mode detection algorithm, now used by the Chilean Government.I also coauthored a study on the importance of forest composition and open habitats for species with specialized diets like the Magellanic Woodpeckers.My contributions have not only advanced the field of data science but also provided tangible, data-driven solutions and insights for both the private and public sectors.

As a senior research software engineer, I advanced my expertise in compressed data structures for big data temporal networks. In this role, I tailored and enhanced these structures specifically designed for computing short distances in dynamic networks.

As a Research Software Engineer, I developed compressed data structures for temporal networks that surpassed minimal information-theoretic bounds for space efficiency. It enabled fast access to compressed data with minimal decompression, enhancing storage and significantly optimizing runtime memory efficiency. The implementation was successfully validated on extensive big data networks, featuring billions of interactions, as is common in online social networks.

As a research software engineer, I specialized in implementing state of the art algorithms for extracting spatial-temporal information from Twitter messages. My work was a key component for the deployment of the Political Observatory for the 2013 Chilean Presidential Election.

Open source contributor to the Wordpress Content Management System. I developed and implemented a Modified Preorder Tree Traversal (MPTT) algorithm for SQL relational databases. The algorithm was used for managing the hierarchical representation of categories. This project was funded by the Google Summer of Code initiative.
